At Santa Fe Trail Consulting, our story is deeply rooted in the history and spirit of the American Southwest. Our founder, Fred Richardson, lives on the very path of the historic Santa Fe Trail—a legendary route of commerce, innovation, and expansion. This daily connection to history inspires our work and our mission: to help modern businesses forge their own trail to success.

Fred brings a wealth of experience from a career spanning decades in technology and business development. He consulted for Digital Equipment, where he was instrumental in marketing DLT technology, including naming the product, developing its logo, and launching DLT University to educate a global audience. He also served as VP of Business Development for Avail Systems, a company that created HSM software for WNT and worked directly with Dave Cutler and his team.

In addition to his technology background, Fred was also a successful financial advisor for 10 years, running his own Ameriprise franchise in Santa Fe. This experience gives him a unique understanding of the local business environment, financial planning, and the challenges of running a small business.

More recently, Fred applied his marketing and content skills by building and selling a popular YouTube channel, Learn to BBQ, which grew to an audience of over 130,000 subscribers. His expertise in developing compelling video content and building a loyal community is a testament to the practical, results-driven marketing he offers.

This diverse background in high-tech innovation, business ownership, and modern content creation informs our approach.
